The strength of the Basque coast lies in its miles of beaches. Biarritz Camping is strategically located, just a few minutes' walk from Plage de la Milady and Ilbarritz.
Closest to the campsite
Flip-flops, swimsuit and towel in hand - that's all you need to get to the beach from Biarritz Camping.
In less than 10 minutes, you'll find yourself on Plage de la Milady, toes in the air.
With its seafront promenade and children's playground, it's a popular spot for families. The beach is supervised.
For surf enthusiasts, this beach is also a well-known spot for Biarritz surfers.
On the border with Biarritz, in the Bidart commune, lies Ilbarritz. Just a 12-minute walk from Biarritz Camping, this beach boasts an exceptional view of the coast towards Spain and the Basque mountains. The beach is also supervised.
Wave-free beaches
Just a 15-minute drive from Biarritz Camping, the large beach at Saint Jean de Luz and the beaches at Ciboure and Socoa are protected by 3 large dikes that prevent waves from forming. The calm ocean is perfect for swimming with your children in high surf.
Closer to Biarritz Camping, right in the center of town, you'll be surprised by the charm of the little cove at Port Vieux in Biarritz. This small, wave-free, non-smoking beach is very popular with families and offers the best conditions for swimming.
For surf addicts
Known as "Little California", Anglet offers 11 beaches stretching over 4.5km, providing the perfect place to spread out your towel in total peace and quiet.
Families and surfers alike will find plenty to do on these beaches.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced surfer, you'll love surfing Anglet's waves. Numerous competitions are organized here with surfers from all over the world.
The longest beach:
Take the car and drive 20 minutes from Biarritz Camping to the longest beach in the Basque Country: Hendaye. It offers 3 km of fine sand, with magnificent views of the emblematic twin rocks and Spain. Perfect for Nordic walking or surfing lessons.
The intimate beach
Wild and intimate, Erretegia is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Basque coast. Set between cliffs and ocean, this Bidart beach offers a natural setting and clear, sometimes turquoise water, perfect for your vacation photos.
After a shopping session
Biarritz's large beach is ideal for cooling off after a shopping trip. In the heart of downtown Biarritz, this beach is the most popular with tourists. Its charm is preserved by its view of the Hôtel du Palais and the Biarritz lighthouse.
